Features :
The JS130J/P (like its JS190J/B sibling) has a cutting-edge design that suggests a computer on a starship of a science-fiction film. The unit I tested is pastel pink, but the system is available in silver and black as well. Sony incorporates function into its design: The arch below the screen is ideal for stowing the keyboard, so you don't have to search for a spot as you do with the Gateway One. The screen is bright and clear, suitable for both browsing photos and watching online and DVD videos. The keyboard, likethose found on Sony VAIO laptops, Apple MacBooks, and the iMac, is comfortable to use, with the keys separated from each other by a few millimeters. The mouse feels cheaper than the keyboard and lacks a back button, but it does the job and looks nice. Both mouse and keyboard are wired, somewhat spoiling the clean lines of the desktop. A wireless mouse and keyboard would be a welcome upgrade.
The JS130J/P is $400 cheaper than the JS190J/B, mainly because of the JS190J/B's Blu-ray drive and faster Core 2 Duo E8500 processor. Although Blu-ray support is a nice feature, you may want to do without it for the cost savings, and the Pentium Dual Core E5200 in the JS130J/P is certainly fast enough for day-to-day tasks. Yet a big plus for the JS130J/P is that it has the same 500GB hard drive and 4GB of memory as its more expensive sibling. That much hard drive space is capable of holding over 100 DVDs' worth of data, which translates into hundreds of thousands of MP3s or pictures.
