The Garmin-Asus nuvifone M20 is a combination cell phone, navigation system and moble web browser and a product of the co-branded alliance between Garmin and ASUSTeK. Unlike the linux platformed nuvifone G60, the M20 is based on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with enterprise email.

The M20 is a dual-band 3.5G/tri-band GSM phone with a 2.8” TFT touch lens display, built-in 4Gb/8Gb storage, Garmin GPS navigation, Wi-Fi connectivity, 3MP camera, desktop-like Opera Internet browser, Bluetooth, built-in microphone and speakers, push email, document viewing and multi-media capability. Software applications available include a music/video player, calendar/PIM, Outlook contacts, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF and image viewers.

The M20 a far more location centric design than other cell phones with GPS navigation capabilities. The M20 nuvifone provides a mobile phone option with GPS navigation co-developed by Garmin, a company with long and extensive experience in GPS navigation solutions. Many other phones have GPS but, this one maximizes the potential of the combination of networking with GPS positioning to deliver location based services. Only a small percentage of the population are aware of the business and social significance the proliferation of location awareness will have.
